DRESS CODE

5678 Dance Studio has a dress code for dancers so that the instructors and students are getting the most out of their classes.  It is very hard for an instructor to correct a dancer’s alignment when the dancer is wearing baggy clothes, their hair is in their face, or they are not wearing dance clothes and it is very hard for a dancer to make corrections, stretch, and dance properly when they have street clothes on. Please make sure to have your dancer dress according to the dress code so that your child can participate in their classes.

Female Ballet Dress Code

 

  • Pre Level (ages 3-4)

    • ​Pink tights, pink ballet shoes, any color leotard and skirt/tutu with hair in a bun. Bloch Belle ballet shoes are recommended because they do not have a drawstring like other ballet shoes.

 

  • Level I (ages 5-6)

    • ​Pink tights, pink ballet shoes, any color leotard and skirt/tutu with hair in a bun. Bloch Belle ballet shoes are recommended because they do not have a drawstring like other ballet shoes.

 

  • Level II (ages 7-8)

    • ​Pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black leotard and skirt/tutu with hair in a bun. Bloch Belle ballet shoes are recommended because they do not have a drawstring like other ballet shoes.

 

  • Level III (ages 9-11)

    • ​Pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes, black leotard with the option of wearing black tight shorts with hair in a bun and bangs pull away from face.

 

  • Level IV (ages 12-14)

    • ​Pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes, black leotard with the option of wearing black tight shorts with hair in a bun and bangs pull away from face.

 

  • Level V (ages 15 & older)

    • ​Pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes, black leotard with the option of wearing black tight shorts with hair in a bun and bangs pull away from face.

 

  • Pointe

    • ​Pink tights, pointe shoes, black leotard with the option of wearing black tight shorts with hair in a bun and bangs pull away from face.

Female Tap Dress Code

 

  • Pre Level (ages 3-4)

    • ​Any dance outfit with tan tap shoes, hair pulled back in ponytail or bun (if dancer is taking pre-ballet they can wear the same thing they wear for ballet for tap; just change the shoes)

 

  • Level I (ages 5-6)

    • ​Any dance outfit with tan tap shoes, hair pulled back in ponytail or bun (if dancer is taking ballet I they can wear the same thing they wear for ballet for tap; just change the shoes)

 

  • Level II (ages 7-8)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, tan oxford tap shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail. (if dancer is taking ballet II they can wear the same thing they wear for ballet for tap; just change the shoes and add the black bottoms)

 

  • Level III (ages 9-11)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, black oxford tap shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail. (if dancer is taking ballet III they can wear the same thing they wear for ballet for tap; just change the shoes and add the black bottoms)

 

  • Level IV (ages 12-14)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, black oxford tap shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail.

 

  • Level V (ages 15 & older)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, black oxford tap shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail. 

Female Jazz/Hip-Hop Dress Code

 

  • Level I (ages 5-6)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, tan jazz shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail. (if dancer is taking ballet II or tap II they can wear the same thing they wear for ballet & tap; just change the shoes and add the black bottoms)

 

  • Level II (ages 7-8)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, tan jazz shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail. (if dancer is taking ballet II or tap II they can wear the same thing they wear for ballet & tap; just change the shoes and add the black bottoms)

Female Jazz Dress Code

  • Level III (ages 9-11)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, tan split sole laceless jazz shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail.

 

  • Level IV (ages 12-14)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, tan split sole laceless jazz shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail.

 

  • Level V (ages 15 & older)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, tan split sole aceless jazz shoes and hair pulled back in ponytail.​

Female Hip-Hop Dress Code

  • Tots  (ages 3-4)

    • ​Any color dance bottoms (sweats, shorts, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, tan jazz shoes hair pulled back in ponytail.

  • Level III (ages 9-11)

    • ​Any color long dance bottoms (sweats, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, black & white airwalks or converse style low sneakers, or Bloch Omina sneakers, that have not been worn outside and hair pulled back in ponytail.

 

  • Level IV (ages 12-14)

    • ​Any color long dance bottoms (sweats, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, black & white airwalks or converse style low sneakers, or Bloch Omina sneakers, that have not been worn outside and hair pulled back in ponytail.

 

  • Level V (ages 15 & older)

    • ​Any color long dance bottoms (sweats, pants, capris), any color leotard or dance tank top, black & white airwalks or converse style low sneakers, or Bloch Omina sneakers, that have not been worn outside and hair pulled back in ponytail.​

Female Contemporary & Lyrical Dress Code

Male Dress Code

  • Ballet

    • ​Black basketball shorts or leggings, black or white T-Shirt and black ballet shoes

​

  • Tap​

    • ​Black basketball shorts or leggings, black or white T-Shirt and black tap shoes

 

  • Jazz and Jazz/Hip Hop​

    • ​Any Color basketball shorts, T-Shirt, and black jazz shoes

​

  • Hip Hop

    • Any Color basketball shorts, T-Shirt, and black & white airwalks or converse style low sneakers that have not been worn outside​

​

  • Contemporary/Lyrical

    • ​   Any Color basketball shorts, T-Shirt, and nude Bloch eclipse lyrical shoes

Dance With Me

​

  • Dancers - Anything they are comfortable moving in and either bare foot or pink ballet shoes for girls.  Dancers can wear leotard and tights.

  • Parent - Anything that is comfortable and that you can move in.  Parents will be helping dancers during class.
